She is so sweet and kind
All compassionate and loving
Always wanting to help everyone
Never thinking about herself
Sacrificing for the greater good
The perfect side of her
An angelic light shines above her

Far below the surface
Where no one suspected
Brooded a fiery beast
One she contained in chains
Always waiting to be fed
One she smothered with optimism
That overwhelmed the anger

One day came the snapping point
When good and evil were to collide
Hurt and pain broke the angel down
No longer could she contain the beast
As it raged forth in violence
The angel cried her last tears

Instead of the beast devouring the angel
The beast gently wiped away the tears
I know it hurts but don’t cry little one
I will tend to those who made you shed tears
And when it is all said and done
They will not understand what hit them
And they will know don't mess with an angel
